EMT-CIPA Corrosion Coupons are used to monitor the corrosion rates of the sample in the pipe or container. It observing the mils-per-year corrosion rate of an exposed coupon, valuable information can be provided regarding the material’s life expectancy.
Generally, corrosion coupons should be of an alloy the same as, or similar in chemical composition to the pipeline or vessel that is being monitored.
